These Chocolate Chip Cookies can be made from your pantry any time. Extra tender, gooey and delicious, these cookies are also super easy and quick to make. Excellent to prepare dry ingredients as to gift in gift mix jars.
Combine flour (all-purpose and cake), baking soda, salt in a small bowl & whisk together
Make the cookie dough
Cream together butter, brown sugar, grandulated sugar and vanilla extract in large mixing bowl until light and creamy
Beat in egg thoroughly
Gradually beat in the dry ingredient mixture until just combined
Stir in the chocolate chips and (optional) nuts
Bake the cookies
Drop rounded tablespoons a couple inches apart from each other onto ungreased baking sheet
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown
Cool on the baking sheets for 2-5 minutes
Move to a wire rack or serving plate to cool

To use this recipe for a gift mix:
In a jar, add chocolate chips, then sugar, brown sugar, flours, baking soda and salt. Close jar, decorate with ribbon, and attach cooking instructions as follows
Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine mix with 1/2 cup (one stick) butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1 large egg. Beat until just combined. Drop rounded 1 Tablespoon size dough on uncreased baking sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes until golden brown. Rest on baking sheets for 2 to 5 minutes. Cool on wire racks or serving plate. Enjoy!
